Leano App Store

Privacy policy

Effective 16 October 2026. This policy covers Leano 2 for iPhone and iPad.

Leano keeps your measurements, photos and health values on your device. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Two things connect to the internet: purchases, which Apple handles, and a check for app updates, which sends Expo a random installation ID and the app version. This page explains both, and everything else, in full.

Who is responsible

Leano is made by Peak Apps Studio, which is responsible for this policy. Write to info@peakappsstudio.com with any question about your data.

What Leano keeps on your device

Everything you enter or create in Leano is stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone or iPad.

DataWhy Leano keeps it
Circumferences of up to 14 body parts and any parts you add, with the date, time and note of each sessionTo shape your 3D twin, compare sessions and draw charts
Height, weight and body fatFor the twin’s size and the four numbers: waist-to-height ratio, waist-to-hip ratio, US Navy body-fat estimate and BMI
Weigh-ins, with their date and time, and a goal weight if you set oneTo draw your daily weight trend, its weekly rate and milestones
Life events and targetsTo show your history in context
Base figure, goal, units, reminder and other settingsTo run the app the way you set it up
Progress photosFor photo comparisons
The last confirmed state of your Pro purchase, used for up to 72 hoursSo Pro keeps working when the App Store cannot be reached

Peak Apps Studio runs no server that receives this data, and we cannot see it.

What leaves your device

App Store purchases

When you buy Pro, start a trial or restore purchases, the payment and the receipt are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Leano asks StoreKit on your device which purchases are active. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple gives developers sales reports that do not identify you.

The update check

Leano uses Expo’s EAS Update service to deliver fixes to the app’s code without a new download from the App Store. Each time the app starts, it asks Expo’s server whether an update is available. The request contains:

  • a random installation ID that the update library creates on your device. It is not linked to your name, your Apple Account or the advertising identifier, and it is deleted when you delete the app;
  • the app’s runtime version and platform, for example 2.0.0 and iOS, and the update channel;
  • the IDs of the code bundles your device is running;
  • if the app’s code failed to start on the previous launch, that error message, so a broken update can be rolled back.

Like any connection, the request also reveals your IP address. It never contains measurements, photos, notes or health data. Expo (650 Industries, Inc., United States) processes this information to deliver updates and keeps it as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose, as described in Expo’s privacy policy. We see totals, such as how many installations run a given update, not individual devices.

What you share yourself

Leano sends nothing on its own. If you export a CSV file or a PDF report, make a share card or write to support, the file or message goes where you choose through the iOS share sheet or your email app, under the terms of that service.

Ratings

Leano may show Apple’s standard rating prompt after you save a session. Ratings and reviews go to Apple.

Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you allow it in Settings in the app, Leano reads:

  • your weight entries, up to a year back when you connect and new ones after that, to draw the daily weight trend;
  • your latest weight, height and body fat, to suggest values while you measure.

If you also turn on Save measurements to Health, Leano writes your waist, weight and body fat after each session, and each weigh-in you log. Values from Health are saved in Leano on the device, marked as coming from Apple Health, and Leano skips its own entries when it reads Health again.

Health data stays on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and never stored in iCloud by Leano. You can change Leano’s access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, Health.

Camera and photos

Leano asks for the camera when you take a progress photo, and for your photo library when you add an earlier photo. Photos are copied into Leano’s own storage on your device. They are never uploaded and never added to your photo library. A share card shows a photo when you choose to add one.

Notifications

The weekly reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. Leano uses no push service and has no notification token.

What Leano does not do

  • No account, sign-up or login.
  • No analytics or advertising SDKs.
  • No tracking across apps or websites, and no use of the advertising identifier.
  • No location data.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data.

Device backups

If you back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud Backup or on a computer, iOS includes Leano’s stored data in that backup, as it does for most apps. Backups are made and kept by Apple or on your computer, under your control. We have no access to them.

Children

Leano is made for adults, and its ratios use adult reference values. It is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal data, we hold none from children either.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it.

  • In Leano, open Settings, then Your data, then Erase all data. Sessions, photos and settings are removed from the device. Purchases stay with your Apple Account.
  • Delete the app to remove everything Leano stored on the device, including the installation ID used for updates.
  • Values Leano saved to Apple Health stay in Health until you delete them there.
  • Files you exported or shared stay wherever you saved or sent them.

Because we keep no copy, we cannot restore deleted data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK, Brazil’s LGPD or California’s CCPA, you have rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data and to object to how it is used. Leano’s data sits on your device, so you can see, export (Settings, Export CSV), change and delete it yourself at any time. For the update check, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure. For any request or question, write to info@peakappsstudio.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If Leano starts handling data differently, we will update this page before the change reaches the app and change the effective date at the top.
